I have chosen to go on the Flat Belly Diet. I am blogging about it for Prevention Magazine along with other writers who also have their own blogs on Prevention. I just got the book in the mail and am in the process of preparing to start the program in about two weeks. I've already got some great posts on weight there so visit me often and see my progress or failure. This could be just the weight management program we've all been looking for.

Hi,
Just EC Card Dropping by and checked out your How to Do Things articles, I noticed you were an Illinois Certified Activity Director - what exactly is that and how do you become one?
Thanks - and wonderful Grandson? photo with the Poop hat - I love it. I viewed your other blogs.
Have a great New Year and good luck on the Flat Belly.
An activity director plans and implements plans of care, mainly in nursing homes in the activity disipline which is really the bottom rung of occupational therapy. So if you have for instance a woman who loved to crochet and then had a stroke leaving her with only one good side of her body, you have to figure out how she can participate in the craft as fully as possible using just one hand. In Illinois it takes just a six hour course to get certified. You should get some experience in an activity department before taking the course. There is a lot of state, federal, and internal paperwork, rules, and laws plus knowledge of conditions both physical and mental that you need to know and none of that is usually covered in the course.
As far as the diet it's over before I got the chance to start it. Yes I need desperately to lose some major weight, however I started the flat belly because I was going to be one of the writers they selected to blog about it. I got a late start because my parents both died the begining of Dec. Then the diet is supposed to be 32 days long, they sent me the book Jan.12 then said it had to be completed by Jan. 30. Huh?
