OBESE PEOPLE ARE DESTROYING THE EARTH

Obese people are now being blamed for global climate change and greenhouse gases. A letter was published in a United Kingdom health journal which does more than suggest that those who are heavy are responsible for high food and gas prices. The logic being that it costs more to transport a heavy person than a thin person, and it also costs more to transport the extra food, which they estimate to be about 460 calories per fat person.

Opponents say that although the logic is sound the reasons are not. We throw more food away in this country than the extra 460 calories consumed, and although we are responsible for our overeating, what about the huge portions served in restaurants, and physical education becoming a thing of the past?

On a global scale do the number of obese people amount to more than the number of people who are said to be starving in other countries? What about those athletes and sports enthusiasts who consume hundreds of extra calories just so they have enough energy to play their games or ride their bikes, or swim for hours at a time?

People who are fat have enough to contend with already socially without having people blame them for destroying the planet.

A LITTLE ADDS UP TO A LOT

It doesn't matter if we're talking about exercise or eating, little things add up to a lot.

Many of us discount all the little things we do each that burn calories, but don't because they do matter. A doctor from the Mayo clinic did a study and found that simple things we do throughout the day can add up to loosing pounds.

Some of those activities include standing instead of sitting, tapping you foot, and walking further and more often. Every move you make counts so start moving as often during the day as you can.

The same is true for how we gain weight. We tend not to count the calories in the little things we put in our mouths throughout the day. That sip of soda, the tasting while we're cooking, or that little piece of candy or cough drop all add up. For a day or two, write down everything that goes in your mouth and you may be surprised how it all adds up.
