Being on a diet during any holiday time is a task and the hardest is about to start with Halloween. Candy, candy, candy, everywhere you look, but here are some ideas to help you get through the temptations.
You know yourself better than anyone, so be honest, do you have a sweet tooth? If you know that candy is your weakness then simply don't buy it. There are plenty of other things you can give your trick or treaters without having to worry about having your house toilet papered. You can buy coupons for their favorite fast food place, give them change, or even arcade tokens if there is one in your area.
If you insist on buying candy then buy it the night before or the morning of Halloween and buy a candy that you don't like. Put it out of sight till the ghouls come to your door and then open the bag.
Don't over buy! My family used to go through three or four bags on Halloween but I have noticed these last couple years there are far less kids coming to the door. In fact I believe most parents are directing their kids only to neighbors homes that they know well or just taking them to the local mall from store to store.
