THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET

The Mediterranean diet seems simple enough and healthy too. The basics of this diet seem to be

  • eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables
  • very little red meat
  • some fish regularly
  • some red wine
  • limited portions of nuts
  • good fats like olive oil
All of the above seems like common sense to me, but I think the real secret here as in all diets is not only the moderation but portion sizes. Remember it's almost always better to eat six small meals a day than three large ones. Your most important diet tools could be a diet food scale and some standard measuring cups. No matter which diet you choose, measure and weigh until you are used to the correct portions.
